A lot of the insurance plans Headway works with actually pay pretty well, like $100 or more per session. I do like the Headway platform, especially the outcome measures it offers to both clinicians and clients. However, I think it's kind of unfair for therapists to be paid less than $100 per session. Headway definitely makes insurance credentialing a lot easier, but they could work on increasing rates for some of the insurance plans.

Their contact form is a nightmare to navigate. Plus, their system has some major flaws. You can't delete client info, only archive it, and making changes to billing info is impossible. If you need to update a client's info, you can't re-enroll them because the system blocks it due to the archived status and recognized email. Also, enrolling multiple family members under one email is a no-go, even for kids. Overall, the service is frustrating when you need help the most.

I have my own scheduling system, yet Headway insists on using theirs, which just complicates things for both me and my clients. Their customer service is limited to a bot or email, making billing issues hard to resolve. Plus, they have strange rules about clients seeing multiple therapists if they're using the same email. They've even introduced a long form for billing and push us to use their notes system. Clients often complain about these changes, and I've lost some because of billing mix-ups or account setup issues. Therapists should manage their practices without such interference. Headway should just handle billing and not meddle with how I run my practice. Considering dropping them soon.

Their support team doesn’t help much either—they’re slow and often clueless. Overall, it's just not worth the hassle. Look elsewhere for better service.
